Reflection of Museum of Contemporary Art

Reflection of Museum of Contemporary Art
In the Museum of Contemporary Art, there is a big problem that I can’t know how to appreciate it. In order to finish the class work, I pretended to like it and noted something. Someone told to me that Contemporary Art is the design that no one has done it and thought of it, so I saw that there are some walls which artist used on the exhibition. I thought whether that artist was too narcissistic or not.

the shadow

It is the street lamppost in the night, isn't it?

the theme of Contemporary Art

The one of the themes in Contemporary Art is “Play”.
Jessica Stockholder plays plastic to make sculptures with brightly color to create improvise exuberant installation. She said “I’m interested in how a thinking process can meander in unpredictable ways.” “and like child’s play”. Oliver Herring released from his past meditative work of knitting colorless sculptures with the tape. He said “I usually wait for a moment that bring out some kind of vulnerability” with inspiration to create his sculpture.
Arturo Herrera. Combines cartoon elements with abstract shapes to explore the interplay of childhood memories and adult desires. He employs childish color, pattern and movement to elicit delight of play.

Public Art

Public Art
At the end of March, Sunny days were driving up the temperature in this spring break in Chicago. My sister and I traveled art loop in downtown according to the audio tour. Before this trip, I wanted to download Audio Tour, but I failed to do it, so I drew a sketch of route map on the paper. We were happy, full of fun, and with confidently expecting to get on the number 62 bus. Our first the stop is Flamingo sculpture in the Federal Plaza which is composed of steel, and is red in color to offset it from the black and steel surroundings of nearby office buildings. It lent soft color to the city. We went up to the north. We met Four Seasons. This art wall is not better than it’s in the picture, but it may give a leisure place to tourists who were tired for sightseeing. Up to the one block, we saw the tow sculptures on either side of the street. There are Miros Chicago which originally called The Sun, The Moon and One star and Picassos Chicago which has become a well known landmark and a symbol of the city. These two sculptures are inspired or symbolized by women.
To the west there is the Monument with the Standing Beast which is diagonal across the street from Daley Center. Because of street busy, I waited for a long time to take a picture of it from the opposite street. Up to north, after we visited The Vietnam Memorial near the Chicago river, we went to find Loop Tattoo which is the most expected one to me. However we went here and there and almost circled three times between The Vietnam Memorial and We Will. Eventually, we failed to find it, although there are some friendly people who wanted to help us. We kept our disappointment and went to the east. As soon as we got to the Michigan Avenue, we forgot our unhappy and were attracted by its bright beauty. We came to the most beautiful place in the Chicago where is on the shores of Michigan Lake. There are The Peristyle, Jay Prilzker Pavilion, and Cloud Gate. The day was nice day. Many people gathered around Cloud Gate. Someone posed to take pictures, and someone enjoyed themselves from that mirror, especially for the girls who playful jumped or leaped in front of big mirror. I was infected with this joy and wanted to take picture like them. To my frustrated again, my battery was over used. I couldn’t take any picture for this beautiful scene. Down to the south, we visited Crown Fountain, The Bowman and The Spearman, The Spirit of Music and the Chicago Groundcover, and Logan Memorial Statue. And then at this time we ended this art loop. I like this art trip which is reasonable designed. This tour route is my great thrill. I will recommend it to my friends who will praise me on familiar with Chicago and enjoy it very much.
